I've been a fan of Eric's work since my early days as a flash designer. His images on flickr are beautiful, engaging, and inspiring. It's a real treat to see them come to life through video
So flickr finally added videos. I was skeptical about how this kind of move might affect the quality of content on the site (I've been a Pro member for a couple of years). But it looks like they've been really smart about the integration. The videos are limited to 90 seconds. They're calling the concept "long photos". They are meant to be extended slices of life, rather than full videos. Very clever, yes? They've also done a nice job of integrating the video display into the inteface. The videos fit in seamlessly with the photos and don't look much different as you can see by viewing this user's photo stream:

BeejayUnfortunately, we play about twice a year. Hehehe. I'm kinda thinking about starting my own thing soon, though.
