For the design junkies, BMW recently debuted their concept vehicle named GINA, which is an acronym for Geometry in n (ie. infinite) Adaptations.
It is purely conceptual and not intended for a production run, but it is very interesting to see the thought process and innovative ideas behind it. Its essentially a cloth "skin" that can adapt to numerous structural adjustments of the cars 'skeleton.' This could serve as both aesthetic and functional depending on the situation.
Thought it was very interesting and it serves as a reminder that design plays an integral role in the development of great products.

I was unhappy to hear that Boyd Coddington passed away today. I have always been more into the muscle cars of the late 60's and early 70's but I still enjoy the custom hot rods as well. Maybe its the designer in me, but the vision, creativity and excecution these the builders exhibit with their cars can be extrordinary, and Boyd was one of the best. I'm sure his influence will continue to be seen for years to come.
