    House shopping time!

Thursday, May 22, 2008, 02:30 PM CST [General]

My wife and I are shopping for our first house now and let me say it's a crazy experience. They say buying a home can be a difficult task for a married couple. She wants a big kitchen and nice garden soaking tub and I want a nice garage for my toys and future toys. Overall we're meshing well on the wants and have looked at several housing communities and model homes narrowing down to a select handful. I think the stress of such a big purchase is starting to take its toll on us, but it will be fine in the end. Now is a great time to buy with the economy in the shape it's in. It truly is a buyers market right now with a lot of selection out there. Homes are apprasing high but selling low. If we can buy and ride out the economy issues, we'll be in great standing when things bouce back. Hopefully I'll be updating this blog in a few weeks with details of our new house!

    Tornado time at ONEsite!

Wednesday, May 7, 2008, 06:33 PM CST [General]

This evening we got the pleasure of a tornado on the NW side of OKC. The building caught the back side of the storm and luckily nothing touched down around here. There were roughly 20 people crammed in the office glued to the TV watching the news and waiting for it to pass. Nothing like a storm bringing co-workers closer together!

As for what we got, we saw a lot of sideways rain and high winds around 75mph. Minutes after the storm passed, everyone ran out to their cars to head home.

I'm sure we'll get reports tomorrow if anyone had damage to their homes....lets hope not.

    The miracle of the internet!

Saturday, April 26, 2008, 11:36 AM CST [General]

It's funny how we can pick up with old friends like we never skipped a beat. A college friend of mine from 8 years ago randomly called my cell phone on Friday. I was a bit taken back, but we shared our history over the last several years and ended the call like we hadn't missed a thing together. He had searched all over the place for me and through the internet he found another mutual friend which passed on my info. We both had gotten married, he had kids, moved around the country some, and we both had changed career paths a couple times. I got him reconnected with some other old friends as well. There's one showing the miracle of the internet!

I wish things were this easy a decade ago.

    Days and Nights

Friday, April 25, 2008, 01:49 PM CST [General]

So I switched to working night shift last weekend to train our new CSR on his new schedule. I guess I'm getting old and can't hack the all nighters like I could back in college. It took me 3 days to get my sleep straightened out for nights and of course I only had to work 4 nights, then make the change back to days. Now I can't sleep at night and I'm trying to switch back to a day schedule. At any rate, I guess this will just add more gray hairs to my head and dark circles to my eyes. The weekend can't get here fast enough!
