my band played our first show since i joined 6 months ago, and since they began workin' on their first full length a year ago, on saturday night. it was a little sloppy but we got good feedback so i think i was a success - you can never really tell what the audience experienced, everyone in the band makes small mistakes or you can't hear someone, or worse, yourself. this was my unfortunate fate that night - i couldn't hear myselft! i was practically playing blind the whole night! i was also freakin' nervous, the first time on stage after a lengthy break is always a bit nerve wracking, for me at least. we were originally slated for the second to last slot at 11, however, we found out the day of the show that we had gotten swapped w/ the band before us and were now on at 9:30. at first everyone was a bit peaved, this being rock 'n roll, egos can be a bit sensitive, but everything turned out ok. we actually got a much better response than the band we got swapped with (snicker, snicker). hopefully, now, the ball will start rollin' again and we'll be playin' out and possibly touring in the fall. it feels good to get back on the stallion that is rock 'n roll!
